North Platte is the main city of the North Platte Micropolitan Statistical Area, which includes Lincoln, Logan, and McPherson counties.

North Platte is home to the world’s biggest rail yard, Bailey Yard. The Golden Spike Tower and Visitor Center is an 8 story building which looks over the large railroad staging area. The tower and visitor center are accessible to the public year-round.

North Platte was the western terminus of the Union Pacific Railway from the summer of 1867 until the next segment to Laramie, Wyoming was opened up the next summer. Even though congress had approved the building of the transcontinental railroad in 1862, it was only expanded as far as Nebraska City by the beginning of the summer of 1867. The 275 mile segment from Nebraska City to North Platte was finished in under 6 weeks.

Lincoln County Historical Museum features a display detailing the history of the North Platte Canteen, which welcomed 6.5 million service personnel from Christmas Day 1941 through April 1, 1946. Basement Waterproofing in Lincoln, NE

I just wanted to say how happy I am with the work that was done in my basement today. The guys were fabulous. They were so nice and cleaned up the basement after the drainage system & pump were put in even better than it was before they got here. I can’t say enough good about your company. You have helped me through the last couple of years, and I feel very confident with your company and would recommend you to anyone that may be having water issues in their basement. Thanks for everything! I can now look forward to rain again, not fear it!
